"PREMIUM EC" is a family of rugged, reliable and infinitely variable speed electronic drives, offered as a practical solution to meet most industrial applications demanding precise and wide control of speed and torque. Backed by an unmatched experience in the field of variable speed drives, PREMIUM proudly present a novel range of PREMIUM EC DRIVES that promises to set new standards in reliability and performance.
"PREMIUM EC" is a combination of a constant speed AC induction motor coupled to an air-cooled adjustable speed clutch. The function of the clutch is to transmit a controlled torque from the prime-mover (induction motor) to the load. A controlled magnetic field, generated by a stationary field coil forms a friction-free medium of torque transmission. A smoothly controlled adjustable speed/torque is therefore achievable based on external electronics. Speed control is achieved by closed loop speed feedback, from a 48-pole AC tachogenerator, supplied integrally with each drive.
"PREMIUM EC" variable speed drives are suited for constant torque applications or for fan loads. "PREMIUM EC" drives are offered in two distinct designs to afford flexibility in the choice of motors or for use with other forms of prime-movers such as a diesel engine.
